Facilities and services

Accommodation:

Brook House offers both single and double bedroom accommodation, most with en-suite facilities, for up to 28 residents. The property has two levels, all offering comfortable homely rooms. All rooms are tastefully decorated to enhance the cosy atmosphere of the home. We have a lovely courtyard garden, where residents can sit under the parasols weather permitting.

There are three tastefully decorated lounges and there are numerous snug seating areas both inside and outside to provide privacy and the opportunity for moments of quiet relaxation. There are two splendid dining rooms in which to enjoy varied menu and delicious meals provided. (There is also a meal tray service to rooms, if required).

The high standard of furnishings and decor are evident throughout the residence and create the feel of a real home. For you to feel really welcome, we offer all new residents the opportunity to have their rooms redecorated to their own liking, selecting from a wide choice of colour schemes. You can of course bring personal furniture with you to complete your experience, if you wish. Lifts are provided between floors, there are TVs, Video and sound systems in lounges and colour televisions in the bedrooms.

  • Relatives and friends of the residents are encouraged to visit and there are no restrictions on visiting hours.
  • The manager keeps in regular contact with relatives and is always available to discuss any problems/concerns that may arise.
  • The home operates a "key worker" system. This means that all residents are allocated a member of staff who will assist them in buying small items that they may require such as toiletries etc.

Meals:

We aim to provide meals that are attractive and nutritious, meet any cultural requirements of residents and which satisfy their dietary needs. Nutritional needs are closely monitored and any problems referred to a GP or dietician. The meals served are: breakfast; dinner; tea; supper. These can be taken in the dining room, or the residents lounge but they may be taken in the privacy of your own room when it is desirable to do so. Assistance is given by care staff to those who have difficulty in feeding themselves. Morning coffee and afternoon tea are served in the lounges or bedrooms.

Trial periods:

All prospective residents are encouraged to come and spend at least a day at Brook House care home, before moving in permanently.
